Colour of the Month: Flamestreak

From the maker:

“In Australia the orange ribbon is used for Harmony Day which coincides with the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination; as well as several cancers such as kidney and Leukaemia.

We’ve chosen to make the January COTM donation to the Healing Foundation (https://healingfoundation.org.au/) which is a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that partners with communities to address the ongoing trauma caused by actions including the forced removal of children from their families.

Between 1905-1970 children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent were removed from their families by the Australian federal and state government agencies and church missions. Chronic health issues, disability and alarming levels of economic and social disadvantage have affected the Stolen Generations and their descendants (https://healingfoundation.org.au/stolen-generations/stolengenerationsreport/).”

Flamestreak features a sheer orange jelly base packed with orange/gold/green shifting iridescent and foil flakes. I built up opacity in three coats, and the final result is a bright, vibrant orange that leans neither too red nor too yellow. In the bottle it looks more yellow-leaning, but on the nail it is more neutral.

Fiend-exclusive of the Month: Masala

Masala features a chartreuse crelly base with matte black glitters. I normally really like chartreuse shades, but more of the yellow-leaning green variety. This one is more of a green-leaning yellow, which is more difficult to pull off. The speckled look is funky and very FF.
