7 polishes
Ethereal’s Winter collection is inspired by cool wintry frost.
Frosted Bauble
I’m starting off with the toppers. Frosted Bauble features a sheer, ice-blue-tinted base with a strong red/gold/green shimmer and silver holo flakes. It builds to pretty good opacity after three coats but there’s no distinct blue visible in the base. I topped it over Lumen’s Aquarius, a purple creme.
3 coats alone -or- 1 coat as topper
Snowfrost
This is the other topper polish. Snowfrost features a sheer base with strong green/blue/purple shifting shimmer and iridescent flakes. It gives a cool-toned opalescent look on its own but also pops strongly as a topper. I show it over Lumen’s Cinder, a black creme. In real life the shimmer is even more prominent, more so than the flakes in direct light. The flakes become more apparent in shaded lighting.
3 coats alone -or- 1 coat as topper
Everfrost
Everfrost features a sheer green-tinted base with red/gold/green shifting shimmer and matching iridescent flakes and silver holo microflakes for a loose linear holographic effect. Winter pastels are an idea I really love.
3 coats + top coat
Skyfrost
Skyfrost features a cool pink base with red/green iridescent flakes and holo microflakes. I think there’s also a bit of red/green shimmer but it’s not a major component. It feels like a cooler, pinker sister to Ethereal’s Aphrodite. Fantastic formula. I usually find Ethereal’s polishes with this finish to be thick and rather difficult to work with, but this one came fluid and easy to apply.
3 coats + top coat
Frozé
Frozé features a rose pink base with strong red/gold/green shifting shimmer and holo flakes. I love the shifts of the shimmer against the pink base color. Unfortunately I don’t love how this color looks on my skin.
3 coats + top coat
Nightfrost
Nightfrost features an inky navy base with red/green shifting shimmer and holo flakes. Classic color combination executed beautifully.
2 coats + top coat
Plumfrost
And finally, Plumfrost features a deep violet base with intense magenta shimmer. It shifts to orange at an angle, but the major visual impact is how strikingly bright the magenta is against the base purple. This shade is my favorite of this collection. I adore deep shades with an intense punch. They always give me a boost of power and confidence.
2 coats + top coat
Ethereal’s Frost collection will be available on November 13 at 11am Eastern time.
