7 polishes
Now, this color palette might look shockingly incongruous for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, but down in Australia, Femme Fatale is welcoming spring with this bright set of shades inspired by the painting Tulips in a Vase by Louis Valtat.
Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn features a bright red creme base with little ash-gray flakes. The red color is very bright, bordering on neon, which is why it might not be showing up properly on your screen. It’s a warm, tomato red with orange undertones, but it’s definitely red overall.
I used one coat of top coat, but you might opt for two since it looks like the one coat got eaten a bit by the flakes.

Lilaceae
Lilaceae features a light pink creme base with crushed gold flakes. The base color is cool-toned, with almost purple-ish, lavender undertones. The overall feel is very delicate and feminine.
3 coats + top coat
Tulipiere
Tulipiere features a magenta crelly with red/green iridescent flakes. The base is actually pretty opaque, so the flakes look more pink with very minimal shift to green. But that’s ok, because the real power of this polish is just how intense and saturated the base color is. I’d describe it as a magenta with berry-purple tones. It’s a powerfully feminine shade.
2 coats + top coat
Ollioules
And now for the only shifty shade in the collection! Ollioules features a sheer, orange-ish coral base packed with green/pink shifting shimmer. I just love the shimmer glow, I love this color combination, and I love how it works on my skin. It’s bright, it’s kinda weird, and it absolutely works. Classic Femme Fatale.

Rembrandt Tulips
And now for the glitter shades! Rembrandt Tulips is a thermal that shifts between a hot pink when cold and clear when warm, overlaid with an intense violet shimmer glow and accented with magenta microglitters. What a unique thermal! Femme Fatale is always, always capable of surprise. I particularly adore the warm state of this thermal. It looks a little pearly, but it doesn’t look stodgy and old-school at all. The bright magenta glitters make the overall look almost pop-art-esque. The glitters flash more pink-toned in real life than the purple they’re photographing as.

Spring-Bloom
Spring-Bloom features a bright orange base with matte neon pink microglitters. This shade was SO hard to photograph. Those little neon glitters really do pop in real life, and you can see them clearly against the base color. Somehow, in photos, the glitters melted into the base color, which is also a bright neon orange. Fun, simple, and effective shade!
3 coats + 2 coats of top coat
Wild Collected
And the last shade! Wild Collected features a bright teal base accented with matte lime green microglitters. The official description gives the glitter color as neon yellow, but in this base color, the glitters take on a bit more of a green tone. And this base color is that irritating-to-photograph shade of teal that is brighter, more saturated, and a bit more green than it photographs. There also appear to be some dark specks scattered within, but I suspect those are bits of unmixed pigment. They add a fun speckled look, so I’m not too mad at them.
2 coats + 2 coats of top coat
