Polished Gamers Box: Sep 2020 Kingdom Hearts

This month’s Polished Gamers Box (PGB) brings us polishes inspired by video game Kingdom Hearts.

Ethereal: Atlantis

Atlantis features an ocean green base absolutely packed full of holographic microflakes. The effect is reminiscent of her earlier silver release Prism. In photos, the silver base of the microflakes likes to jump out, but in reality this polish is packed full of rainbow flash, so the overall effect is much more colorful than it photographs.

The formula is fantastic. It covers very well in one coat, but I recommend two for full coverage. All the microflakes means a good amount of resulting texture, so I added two coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

MTK Design: Demon Flames

Demon Flames is a thermal polish that transitions between an aqua-jade green when warm and deep, dusty indigo-blue when cold. Within are green-blue-purple iridescent flakes and shimmer. I’m still having trouble catching thermal transitions since it’s quite warm out, but hopefully it’ll get easier in the next few weeks. Since I didn’t see much of the cold state I can’t describe it too well, but the warm state is a bit more green than it photographs, and it’s very pretty.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that two coats covers pretty well, and if you prefer a more delicate look two coats might be enough. I opted for three just for full opacity.
