3 polishes
This month’s Stardust collaboration sees Wildflower Lacquer join Ethereal and Kathleen & Co. for a box inspired by weather phenomena.
Ethereal: Frost
Ethereal is contributing Frost, a pale, icy blue base loaded with red/green shifting shimmer. Oh. My. God. This polish is a STUNNER. I don’t like blues, and I don’t like pastels, and yet I like this polish. I don’t know what kind of magic Meagan wrought this time, but it’s somehow made me like a pastel blue. This kind of polish can really only be described as ethereal. How does she do it?? The overall look is very clean, very light, and a pleasure to wear.
The formula is a bit thick and a bit patchy, but three coats smoothed everything out for a perfect finish.

Kathleen & Co.: Stormy Skies
Kathleen & Co. is contributing Stormy Skies, which features a dark grey base packed with blue/purple shifting shimmer. Shimmery greys are some of my favorite neutrals, and this one is quiet but powerful. Great formula too! Two easy coats to this finish.
2 coats + top coat
Wildflower: Voltage
Wildflower’s contribution is Voltage, a sheer medium purple base packed with magenta/purple/gold shifting shimmer. The shimmer in this polish is more like a microflake, so the particles are larger than those in the other two polishes. It looks like there are also some blue microflakes mixed in for a bit of a mosaic look (as opposed to a totally uniform shimmer look). This was sheerer than I was expecting for a polish of this color–it built up nicely in three coats though. I think it’s to let all the microflake shimmer show through. Indeed it’s the shimmer that really brings this polish to opacity, so be patient and let it build with each coat.

This box will be available for preorder for four days starting August 28 at 11am Eastern at Ethereal’s site.
