The Fandom Flakies box is a monthly effort from Bee’s Knees Lacquer, featuring one flakie-filled polish each from BKL, Night Owl Lacquer, and one guest maker, themed around a specific fandom. There are also some extra goodies from Ribbits Stickits with each box.

Bee’s Knees: I’m Never Gonna Financially Recover From This

BKL’s I’m Never Gonna Financially Recover From This features a sheer forest jelly base filled with holographic microflakes and red/green shifting iridescent flakes. This polish was a bit sheerer than I normally expect from BKL. Three normal coats showed just a hint of VNL. But the sheerness allows all of the flakes packed within, especially the holo flakies, to shine more than they would in a more opaque base.

Night Owl: I Saw a Tiger

NOL’s I Saw a Tiger features a neon orange base with iridescent flakes, darker flecks, and scattered holographic sparkle. This is a true orange, leaning neither yellow nor red. The neon-ness made color accuracy quite difficult. It also made it hard to show all the flakes packed within, but the flakes are definitely prominent in real life! The formula is great and applies very evenly. It was so close to opacity at two coats, but I opted for a third for a perfect finish.

Wildflower: Here Kitty Kitty

Wildflower’s Here Kitty Kitty features a thermal jelly base that shifts from an aqua blue (cold) to clear (warm) with iridescent flakes and holo microflakes. Unfortunately it’s been quite hot here so I had trouble getting the cooler stage to show well, which is a shame because it is absolutely gorgeous! But in the warm state the iridescent flake mix takes center stage. This one is so pretty.
