The May 2020 PPU shop brings us polishes inspired by sweet treats!

Bee’s Knees: Chewnicorn

BKL’s Chewnicorn is inspired by the creature of the same name from video game series Viva Piñata. It is a pale baby blue creme filled with red/green shifting shimmer. Such a cute shade!

3 coats + 1 coat of top coat

Cupcake: Rock My World

Cupcake’s Rock My World is inspired by rock candy. It features a bright pink base filled with iridescent flakes and shimmer. It applies very evenly, so you could wear this in either two or three coats. For me, two coats looked sheerer and showed a bit of VNL, which is also a nice way to wear this shade!

Ethereal: Banana

Ethereal’s Banana is inspired by banana runt candies. This polish features a banana yellow base packed with red/green shifting shimmer. This shade of yellow is very bright and cheery, and I’m very happy that it doesn’t do that unfortunate thing common to yellows where it has a slight green cast. It’s just a lovely, sunny, happy shade!

Femme Fatale: Sugar Cubes

Femme Fatale’s Sugar Cubes is a sister to the previously-released Cotton Candy Sprinkles. This polish features a pale indigo base packed with pink/gold/green shifting shimmer, matte white glitters, and holographic sparkle. I seriously love the colors of this one, just like I loved the colors of its sister! That shimmer shift paired with this base color is so stunning, and the glitter mix is so cute and fun.

Lilypad: Candy Kitten

Lilypad’s Candy Kitten is inspired by the candy of the same name. It is a pastel peach base with pink and orange microglitters and a pink shimmer. The shimmer is a bit camera-shy, so it is a bit more visible in person. Peachy shades are always tricky to photograph, and the final appearance of this shade will vary heavily depending on your skintone. On my medium warm skin, it is pulling more pink. If you are cooler-toned it might pull more orange. Be sure to check out images from a swatcher with a skintone similar to yours!

Moo Moo’s Signatures: I’m a Chocoholic!

Moo Moo’s I’m a Chocoholic is inspired by the chocolate factory from the beloved Roald Dahl tale. It features a red-brown jelly base packed with red/green shifting iridescent flakes, pink/gold/green shifting shimmer, and gold holographic glitters. I love this one! I’m not much for cutesy shades (read: much of this candy theme 😅), so this darker one really speaks to my vamp-loving heart. It can be worn in two coats as a less-intense shade, but building it up in three coats gives a lovely glowing-from-within look.

Moo Moo’s Signatures: Princess Lollipop

Moo Moo is also bringing a topper! Princess Lollipop is a clear-based topper with small neon pink glitters, blue/purple/pink shimmer, pink/gold/green iridescent flakes, shifting rainbow micro shreds, and silver holo glitter. Really cute and feminine combination that will accent many base colors! Despite all the components, it dries smooth, and one coat of top coat is enough for a perfect finish.

3 coats alone ~or~ 1 coat over black

I’m also showing it here over dark blue, light pink, white, and dark purple creme bases, first with glossy top coat and then matte. I like that over darker bases the shimmer and flakes pop, but over a lighter base the pink glitters are more apparent.

Nailed It!: Cosmic Cocoa

Nailed It’s Cosmic Cocoa features a linear holographic base with turquoise shimmer, green/blue/purple shifting UCC flakes, and holo microflakes. The linear holo flame is more apparent in person. All the components lay down smoothly and easily. I like the colors of this one, and it’s quite sparkly in person!

Pahlish: Mochi Meow

Pahlish’s Mochi Meow is inspired by a photo of edible little mochi kittens! This polish features a pale grey base accented with pink/gold shifting shimmer. It seemed a bit plain in the bottle, but on the nail it somehow felt cozy yet elegant. The shimmer appears very smooth and almost glowy. I really enjoyed wearing this one, much more than I initially thought I would from its bottle appearance.
