Stardust is a new effort from Ethereal Lacquer, designed to bring us shimmers and multichromes in collaboration with other makers! This is the first collaboration, which was done with Kathleen & Co. They were inspired by sunsets and sunrises.

Ethereal: Sundrop

Ethereal’s contribution is Sundrop, a bright raspberry base loaded with red/green shifting shimmer. The base color was so, so hard to photograph. I think “raspberry” describes it well…best I can say is it’s a pinkish-toned red. Against that cool-toned base, the red shimmer can sometimes flash a little orange.

It was almost opaque in two coats. On shorter nails two coats should be fine. Had I not been photographing this under bright lights, I probably would’ve stayed at two as well.

Kathleen & Co.: Sunset on Lake

Kathleen & Co.’s contribution is Sunset on Lake, a sheer blue base with red/green shifting shimmer. The base is almost more like a sheer wash of color. Even at three coats, I had pretty obvious VNL. I think it’s meant to have more of a soft effect.
